Day eight: Bullied?

Añe (km 555) – Nava de la Asunción (km 532)
After breakfast (more rice pudding, and what was left of my sandwich) P. and I went walking. We had hoped to find a café in Pinilla, but there was nothing open.

Crossing the new railroad near Santa María la Real de Nieva, AVE.

Finally: coffeeeeeeeeee! I had planned on staying here, but it was just noon. So after discussing with the much much sportier P. and on a caffeine high after two cups of cortado, I decided to follow her to Nava de la Asunción.

We walked through a pine forest where the resin had been harvested.
Every tree had these thingies to save the resin into ceramic pots.

Someone wanted a neat pot tower! The resin works like glue.

After a warm welcome at the pastry shop, Rosana, we got the keys to the albergue. Which was situated at the bulls ring! Can you imagine? No toreadors, no bulls. Just two peregrinas. In the bulls ring. Estupendo!

Cheers!

Tip of the day. If you walk a little longer you may experience something you never dreamed of.
